Paediatric Osteopathy

Hilary treats babies and children using cranio-sacral osteopathy. When treating this age group one needs to consider the overall health of the child as well as their development. This differentiates the treatment from that of adults as we do yet know who or what they will be.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is for the manual treatment of the muscle skeletal system and a paradigm for health. There are many different techniques used from structural to cranio-sacral osteopathy. These might include soft tissue massage, manipulation, articulation, muscle energy techniques and be augmented by individually prescribed exercises and stretches.

Perrin Technique

The Perrin Technique is used to treat the symptoms of chronic fatigue/myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) using lymphatic drainage techniques amongst others.

Cranio-sacral osteopathy

Despite the name this is a series of body-wide treatment techniques that are gentle yet profound, equally useful for treating babies and adults.

Robin Percival graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in London in 1988 and then worked for a short while in a long established practice in Southport.. The following year Robin and Hilary set up their own practice in Clitheroe which gradually evolved to be in three clinics. Robin worked mainly as a structural osteopath with an emphasis on the patient and their environment, whether it be the office, building site, farm or the elderly. For the last twenty five years this has included using the Perrin Technique to help patients suffering from ME/ Chronic fatigue syndrome. It has been useful recently with the current prevalence of long covid.
